According to reports, two individuals from Nevada have been apprehended for purportedly stealing jewelry worth $3 million from a residence in Frederick County, Maryland.
At the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, 29-year-old Demarco Coney-Jones and 22-year-old Akayla Tuttle, who are the suspects, are currently being detained without bond.
The authorities suspect that the duo broke into the residence on the 18th of August, taking advantage of the homeowner’s absence.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office collaborated closely with the U.S. FBI offices located in Baltimore, Las Vegas, and San Diego.
After much effort, they were able to locate the culprits and paved the way for their capture on August 28, ten days later.
The neighbor’s doorbell camera footage played a critical role in identifying the suspects. Thanks to this crucial piece of evidence, the investigation was able to move forward and make progress towards solving the case.
Upon apprehension, the authorities discovered a significant portion of the stolen jewelry at the suspect’s residence, alongside confiscated illegal firearms and cash.
The investigation is ongoing to determine how the perpetrators became aware of the valuable items present in the victim’s residence.
