A woman has been accused of shooting her brother outside a home in south Harris County early on Friday morning. As per the reports from the deputies, the siblings have had a strained relationship for several years.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s deputies, a family violence call led to a shooting incident in the early hours of Friday around 6:20 a.m. The location of the incident was the 1700 block of Fellows Road, which is close to Pearland, near the intersection of SH-288 and the Beltway. The investigators were immediately notified and rushed to the site to investigate the matter.
According to officials, the brother and sister, both in their early-to-mid 50s, have been engaged in an ongoing dispute over lost possessions. The conflict has been brewing for some time now.
Lt. John Klafka has stated that there has been a continuous conflict between the siblings for the last few years.
The sister reported to the authorities on Friday morning that she had noticed some of her belongings missing from the outside, and her brother was not present at home.
According to Klafka, the back of the truck contained a crashed fender, some other minor objects, and random trash. He also noted that one of the objects resembled a washing machine tub.

According to officials, the brother was prevented from entering the driveway and accessing his trailer home by his sister, who used a tractor tire to block his way. Upon his return to the property, he became agitated, and the sister emerged from the house.
As the siblings engaged in a heated argument, the woman suddenly realized that her missing property was in the back of her brother’s truck, according to the deputies.
According to Klafka, she made an attempt to recover it, but her brother suddenly charged at her.
According to Klafka, the woman felt threatened and resorted to pulling out her gun. She fired a shot at the man, and despite further exchange of words between them, she fired a second shot.
According to HCSO, the brother sustained gunshot wounds in his arm and stomach. He was immediately taken to the hospital and underwent surgery. Fortunately, deputies have reported that he is expected to recover from his injuries.
According to investigators, the brother was found to be unarmed.
According to Klafka, the sister did not have any criminal record before this incident. During the questioning, she was initially cooperative with the investigators. However, things took a turn when the deputies instructed her to sit in the back of an HCSO vehicle, and she started resisting.
The woman was arrested after the Harris County District Attorney’s office accepted a charge of aggravated assault of a family member against her.
According to deputies, the mother of the siblings was present at home during the incident but was indoors and reportedly unaware of what unfolded outside.
