Centre Co., PA (mocobizscene) — A Bellefonte man is facing charges filed by the State police in Centre County after they conducted an investigation into allegations of sexual assault against a 12-year-old girl.
According to authorities, Dennis Ring, who is 52 years old, was under investigation in March due to allegations of him having inappropriate contact with a young girl. The investigation revealed that this had occurred on at least two separate occasions.
The victim claimed that the initial assault occurred during the previous Christmas, and the second incident happened in early March this year, as stated by the troopers.
Throughout the investigation, authorities discovered that Ring had reportedly confessed to some of the accusations when he spoke with a Child and Youth Services caseworker.
According to authorities, when questioned about the other incident, Ring initially claimed no recollection of any other alleged assaults.
According to the police, Ring denied the allegations when troopers provided more details, stating that “it never got to that.”
During the interview, Ring claimed he was under the influence when he allegedly assaulted the girl. He went on to state emphatically that he is not the type of person capable of such a heinous act. Despite this, troopers remained skeptical of his defense.
Based on records from online court sources, Ring was charged with numerous counts of indecent assault, including a serious felony charge for aggravated indecent assault of a minor. The arraignment for these charges was conducted on Tuesday.
After being detained, he was eventually released on unsecured bail.
