Ashford Ambulance and Rescue Squad received a $10,000 donation from Operation Roundup

ASHFORD, Ala. – Ashford Ambulance and Rescue Squad have recently received a generous grant of $10,000 to enhance its services and better serve the community.

This grant was obtained through Operation Round Up, a foundation that originated under Wiregrass Electric Cooperative and has been impacting lives since 2015.

The foundation collects funds from community members by rounding up their electric bills to the nearest whole dollar. The check was presented by Brad Kimbro, the Wiregrass Electric Cooperative operations manager, who expressed his pride in helping not only Ashford but also the eastern part of Houston County.

He acknowledged the vital role played by Ashford Ambulance and Rescue Squad in serving the community and helping numerous people. Brad Kimbro said, “We are just honored to be in the position to help such a great community cause that’s going to help so many folks.”

The Chief of Operations, Jarrod Whitten, is committed to responding to the community’s needs and saving lives. He emphasized the importance of having an ambulance that can quickly reach people in need, stating, “What I tell folks is my family lives here.
