Altercation on Wednesday Leads to 1 Fatality and Reopens I-25 Northbound South of Colorado Springs

On Wednesday, an incident in the Fountain area resulted in the closure of northbound I-25, as police conducted an investigation. Tragically, one person lost their life as a result of the incident. This information was reported in a recent news article from EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.

According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, there was a medical emergency that occurred in the area between S. Academy Boulevard and Mesa Ridge Parkway.

According to the Fountain police department, there were reports of a physical altercation between two individuals on the northbound side of I-25 around 2 p.m.

As per the police report, upon arriving at the scene, they found an individual lying on the side of the road, unresponsive and not breathing. Despite the efforts to revive the person, they were unable to save their life.
