According to Montgomery Police Chief Darryl Albert and Sgt. Jeremy Burkett of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, a state trooper attempted to stop a vehicle within city limits, but the suspect evaded.

While conducting the operation, ALEA troopers noticed a gray Dodge Charger being driven without the required tags. They attempted to stop the vehicle on Audubon Street, but the driver sped off. According to Albert and Burkett, the vehicle being chased by Montgomery police collided with their vehicle, causing severe damage and leaving the officer unresponsive at first.
According to recent reports, the officer involved in the incident has been identified as D’Anthony Green, a six-year veteran of the MPD. Following the altercation, Green was immediately rushed to Jackson Hospital where he was initially unresponsive. However, he has since regained consciousness and is currently undergoing a series of tests to determine the extent of his injuries.
Located just a stone’s throw away from Mulberry Street and Interstate 85, the crash site was situated in the 2000 block of East 3rd Street in Montgomery.
According to ALEA, Richard Moore, a 35-year-old resident of Montgomery, has been identified as the driver of the vehicle that was trying to escape. He has been charged with felony attempting to elude, first-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.
