A 14-year-old boy was killed in a shooting on Sylvania Ave

On September 18, tragedy struck in Toledo, Ohio as a teenager lost their life due to a gunshot wound on Sylvania Avenue.

The Toledo Police Department received a report of a person shot at approximately 8:10 p.m. in the 1400 block of West Sylvania Ave and promptly dispatched officers to the scene.

Upon their arrival, the officers discovered that Calub Ellis, a 14-year-old, had suffered from a gunshot wound. Sadly, he was taken to Toledo Hospital for treatment but eventually succumbed to his injuries.

According to the boy’s grandfather, he went to visit 14-year-old Calub at the hospital on Monday evening. Little did he know that it would be the final time he would see his beloved grandson alive.

Michael Ellis, Calub’s grandfather, recounted his heart-wrenching experience at the hospital. He shared how he touched Caleb’s foot and wished for him to get up, but sadly, his grandson wouldn’t respond.
