Two Michigan residents were killed in a single-vehicle crash in Montgomery County

Two people lost their lives in a tragic incident that occurred on Tuesday morning in Montgomery County. The victims were involved in a single-vehicle crash.

According to Cpl. Reginal King of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the accident took place around 11:20 a.m. on Interstate 65, near the 162-mile marker, which is approximately three miles south of Montgomery.

The driver of the vehicle, 61-year-old Ester I. Boutwell from Manistee, Mich., was behind the wheel of a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado when the car left the road and overturned. Boutwell and her passenger, 31-year-old Kimberly Barrentine from Hessel, Mich., were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, King said.

Unfortunately, both Boutwell and Barrentine lost their lives in the accident and were pronounced dead at the scene.
