In North Alabama, a body wrapped in plastic was discovered on a riverbank

A man’s body was discovered wrapped in plastic in Lake Guntersville, on the border of Marshall and Jackson counties, on Friday afternoon.

According to Jackson County Sheriff Rocky Harnen, the corpse was discovered around 1 p.m. by a fisherman off County Road 67 near Langston, right before South Sauty Creek.

The body has been delivered to the state forensics lab for an autopsy in order to identify the cause of death.

Marshall County investigators, as well as the Alabama Game and Fish Division, Marine Police, and the Guntersville Rescue Squad, assisted, according to Harnen.
