HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — “Meemaw’s Original Recipe,” a new beer with a familiar Alabama Face, is officially available for sampling in all its Southern sweetness.
Chandlers Ford Brewing formally released “KIV Sweet Tea Sour,” which has been two years in development and is finally ready to bless your taste buds. The unofficial drink of the South is now available in beer form.
The container prominently features an image of Alabama Governor Kay Ivey in the manner of Kentucky Fried Chicken founder Colonel Harland David Sanders. The 6% ale is fermented with honey from local farms before being “cold conditioned” with Piper and Leaf’s Front Porch Special black tea mix flavoured with fresh lemon zesties.
Additionally, Root Shoot Malting adds its double honey flavor to the beverage, completing the familiar sweetness of the tea.
In case the puns didn’t make it obvious, the branding strongly evokes a well-known chicken chain.
The Southern brew is now sold at Beezr, a popular gastropub in downtown Huntsville. they have already been replenished, according to the creators.
