Football player from NY Jets apprehended in Alabama on drug possession charges

Over the weekend, a New York Jets football player was arrested in Alabama on drug charges, making headlines across the country.

Sources report that Tae Hayes, the Jets cornerback, was recently taken into custody for possessing marijuana. After posting a $300 bond, Hayes was booked and subsequently released.

Upon the arrest, the Jets issued a statement as follows:

“We acknowledge the situation and choose to abstain from making any additional remarks as it is a legal matter that is still pending.”

During his career, Hayes has played in a total of 14 games and has been a part of six different teams. Despite going undrafted from App State in 2019, he had the opportunity to play in one game for the Jets last season, where he served as a practice squad player.
