During a high-speed chase in Alabama, a man injures himself and is taken to the hospital

On Thursday, August 17, 2023, an Alabama man became anxious during his high-speed chase that he wounded himself. Bryan Tettleton, 44, was wanted on multiple felony warrants before things went south on a hot summer day in Alabama.

Alabama’s Fox10 TV began its news report by saying:

The chase started at around 2:45 p.m. on Thursday when police spotted a stolen vehicle. Officers (Semmes) were able to box the car, the driver jumped out while the car was still moving, and attempted to flee. The suspect attempted to jump the fence when an officer tased him.

Tettleton collapsed after being tased and was driven over by a moving car. He eventually departed the scene on a stretcher with a broken leg.

Tettlton was charged with evading capture and receiving stolen stuff. Tettleton was driving a stolen Toyota Camry during the high-speed chase in Alabama.

According to Deep Sentinel data, this exact vehicle was the seventh most stolen vehicle in 2023. The Camry is appealing to thieves for a variety of reasons, including its small size, low cost, and long-standing consumer reputation.
