Breaking News: Theft at major retailer in Opelika

The Opelika Police Department wants the public’s help to find a person who is suspected of stealing.

Investigators put out a picture of a person they were looking for in connection with a felony store theft case. According to reports, the event happened on July 8 at the Office Depot in Opelika, Alabama.

According to authorities, the suspect in the photo entered the business.

And cut a wire from an alarm system, took a display laptop, and left.

Officials say that security video shows the suspect, who is a white man with tattoos on both arms, wearing khaki shorts, a light blue Columbia t-shirt, and black and white sneakers.

The person is wanted for the Class D crime of theft in the third degree.

Central Alabama CrimeStoppers is giving out cash rewards for information.
