Birmingham police looking into multiple shootings that occurred on Wednesday morning

Two separate shootings occurred in Birmingham on Wednesday morning, and the police are currently investigating the incidents.

An officer was flagged down after 9:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of Second Avenue North in the first shooting.

The victim, an adult male, was taken to UAB Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

No suspects have been apprehended yet.

In the second shooting, a male victim arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound around the same time.

Investigators believe the shooting occurred in Baby Kingston, but officers were still searching for the scene, according to police radio communications.

Possible suspects and witnesses were being questioned.

Officers confirm that the two shootings are not connected.
