An 82-year-old man was killed in an accident in Shelby County

SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. – An 82-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash late Wednesday night.

At around 11:25 p.m., Joseph M. Brennan of Cropwell was driving a 2017 Volkswagen Passat when he collided with a 2006 Peterbilt tractor-trailer on Alabama 25.

Brennan was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident and died at the scene. The accident happened near the 142-mile marker, about one mile south of Harpersville.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division is still investigating.
