DeAsia Jones is vying for the title of Distinguished Young Woman of America for 2024, along with 49 other participants, with the added incentive of $155,000 in cash scholarships.
After being chosen as the Distinguished Young Woman of Alabama, Jones geared up for the five categories of evaluation, which included scholastics, interview, fitness, talent, and self-expression.
Tiffany and Leroy Jones are the proud parents of a 2024 Faith Academy graduate. Their daughter has successfully completed her academic tenure at the institution.
All 50 representatives arrived in Mobile, where the competition is being held, on Tuesday night. They will be staying in Mobile for a total of two weeks.
Jones will engage in team-building activities, community service projects, and interact with the Gulf Coast community during this period. Additionally, Jones will prepare for the three-night scholarship program by dedicating several hours to rehearsals.

In 2024, the recipient of the Distinguished Young Woman of America award will embark on a journey across the nation to champion the program’s cause of “Being Your Best Self.” Throughout the year, the winner will travel extensively, promoting this initiative to audiences far and wide.
Encouraging community involvement and addressing critical issues such as childhood obesity and high school dropout rates, the outreach program strives to make a positive impact. Additionally, the program aims to increase volunteerism among individuals.
According to a news release from Distinguished Young Women, the outreach program comprises five key components: Be Healthy, Be Involved, Be Studious, Be Ambitious, and Be Responsible.
Jones hopes to follow in the footsteps of her fellow Alabamian, Carrington Hodge, who was crowned the Distinguished Young Woman of America for 2024. She aims to become the second Alabamian in a row to receive this prestigious award.
