Alabama prisoner sought after early escape from work release center

Authorities are currently conducting a search for a prisoner who escaped from an Alabama prison on Tuesday morning.

At the Childersburg Community Based Facility and Community Work Center in Alpine, Pershon O’Neal Pettway, age 27, was serving a two-year prison term for receiving stolen property.

According to officials, a standard check of the institutional bed roster was carried out at 3:32 a.m. However, the count did not clear at approximately 4:20 a.m.

According to reports, Pettway was not found and his whereabouts were unknown.

According to reports, Pettway is a 135-pound Black male who stands at 6 feet and 1 inch tall. It’s worth noting that he’s currently being sought for escape.
