Alabama National Fair receives equipment replacement through donation after shed fire

On Friday, the Alabama National Fair received a substantial donation that will play a pivotal role in its preparations for the upcoming opening in October.

More than four months have passed since a devastating fire completely destroyed the shed where all the equipment for preparing the fair was stored.

Lowe’s stepped up on Friday and delivered power tools to Garrett Coliseum to replace the equipment that was lost in the fire.

According to Randy Stephenson, Executive Director of the Alabama National Fair, “We can’t thank God enough for his mysterious ways. We promised to be resilient and come through after this incident happened in March.”

Lowe’s stores in Huntsville, Birmingham, Prattville, Wetumpka, and Montgomery came together with Coca-Cola UNITED, Alfa, and the Department of Agriculture and Industries to collect and donate all of the tools.

Craig Hill, the manager of the Lowe’s store in Prattville, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to provide assistance.

Hill expressed, “My fondest childhood memory was attending the Alabama National Fair, and it’s heartwarming to see my children create their own cherished memories there. As a team, we united to support this beloved event.”

According to Stephenson, the recovery process has heavily relied upon community partnerships and support.

Stephenson expressed his admiration for the Alabama National Fair and the community, stating that their recent accomplishment is nothing short of amazing. He also acknowledged that this would enable them to proceed with the fair’s preparations.

According to Stephenson, the Alabama National Fair is scheduled to take place from October 4 to October 14, with the aim of ensuring that this year’s fair is the most exceptional yet.
