U.S. Marshals successfully apprehended a murder suspect from New Orleans in Memphis on Wednesday.
A suspect in the case of a man found stabbed to death in a car on September 25 has been identified as Nile Ward. The 26-year-old was wanted for second-degree murder, and a warrant for her arrest was issued on October 24.
The U.S. Marshals Service in New Orleans took on the case thereafter.
According to reports, Ward was located in Memphis, and authorities from the U.S. Marshals and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Team were able to find her at a motel situated on Lamar Avenue. The U.S. Marshals have stated that she was apprehended without any issues and is expected to be extradited to Louisiana shortly.
