The Alexandria Police Department found an Alexandria man who was assaulted, robbed and naked outside his apartment building in the West End last month.
On Thursday, October 5, at 11:45 p.m., APD officers responded to a report of a potential assault outside an apartment building in the 4300 block of Duke Street.
According to a newly released search warrant affidavit, officers discovered the victim nude and bleeding from the back of his head.
The victim told police he had an argument with the suspect, who allegedly struck him in the back of the head and then “produced a silver steak knife and demanded he take off his clothing and everything else that he had in his possession,” according to the affidavit for the search warrant.
“(The victim) was told to leave the apartment after disrobing,” police stated in the affidavit for the search warrant.
The suspect, 43-year-old Bereket Berhe of Fairfax County, was allegedly discovered with blood on his shirt sleeves and on his wrist. The same day he was apprehended and charged with robbery, he was released on bond. According to court records, he was absent from his court appearance on October 27.
