Man arrested after stand-off with police in Independence

On Halloween night, police in Independence, Missouri, reported that a suspect was taken into custody after a standoff that ended at around 8:30 p.m.

The Independence Police have issued a warning to the public to avoid an ongoing situation on 18th Street, which is located between South Evanston Avenue and South Home Avenue. According to a Facebook post by IPD, the party that was sought after left the property and was apprehended without any trouble.

According to an officer, the police were notified of an individual barricaded inside a residence at approximately 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The situation is still ongoing as of 7 p.m. on Tuesday, according to IPD. They have stated that they will notify the public when the incident has been resolved.
