Watching a Kansas City Chiefs game doesn’t require much. All you need is a comfortable chair, perhaps a beverage, and a television. It’s a simple pleasure that can bring a lot of joy.
Electricity is definitely something to consider.
For residents of Odessa, Missouri, the upcoming planned power outage is causing quite a stir. The city, along with Evergy, has informed them that their area will be without power from midnight to noon on November 5th. This has left many residents feeling concerned and inconvenienced, as they scramble to make arrangements for the outage period.
According to Marty McDermed, who was at a nearby barber shop, the association was quickly made.
“When I saw it was a Sunday, I paused for a moment and checked the Chiefs schedule again to see if they had an early or late game,” McDermed recounted.”
McDermed remarked, “Oh, looks like it’s an early game.”
According to Paula Summers, a resident of Odessa, many people still haven’t realized that the games are scheduled for 8:30 in the morning. She jokingly added that football is never played at such an early hour unless one is in Germany.
According to Summers, everyone in town is now brainstorming ways to catch the Chiefs vs. Dolphins game. She revealed that one of her family members is even considering purchasing a generator to ensure uninterrupted viewing.
As per Evergy, rescheduling the repairs is proving to be a major challenge. The rebuilding of a transmission line requires the involvement of multiple crews, permits, and coordination with the railroad company. All of this needs to be done before the onset of colder weather, which makes the task even more difficult.
The Broken Dollar Saloon in Odessa is known for being closed on Sundays, but Owner Tina Peersom has decided to make an exception for November 5th. Customers can now enjoy their drinks and company on this previously closed day.
Peersom confidently stated, “I have a generator on its way.”
Peersom confidently stated that he can keep the beer chilled and have a minimum of two TVs running. However, he expressed doubts about whether the generator could handle the power required for the kitchen. In his opinion, it might not produce enough power to run the kitchen effectively.
Amidst the chuckles of the people around her at the bar, she jokingly commented, “I mean, who doesn’t enjoy a drink at 8:30 in the morning?”
McDermed expressed her anticipation for a dull and uneventful day ahead, stating, “I’m planning to be extremely bored.”
In a statement, he expressed his disappointment with the timing of the event. “Apparently, they aren’t keeping up with current events because their timing is just terrible,” he remarked.
