RUSSELLVILLE, Ala. – This week, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, four individuals were arrested and 2,500 fentanyl-containing pills were seized during two narcotics busts.
The FCSO reported that the two operations were conducted with assistance from the Russellville Police Department.
According to the sheriff’s office, the first operation occurred on Thursday when a deputy and Russellville police stopped a vehicle on Jackson Avenue in Russellville. The FCSO reports that a search of the vehicle uncovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The sheriff’s office reported that both vehicle occupants, Joel Davis and Angel Morgan, were arrested.
The FCSO reported that while Morgan was being taken into custody, approximately 1,000 fentanyl tablets were discovered on her person. Morgan is accused with drug trafficking and possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as warrants for unrelated community corrections violations, according to the sheriff’s office.
Davis is accused with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the FCSO.
According to the sheriff’s office, the second round of arrests took place on Friday following a months-long investigation by the FCSO and RPD. Following a traffic stop, investigators arrested Ayanna McCullough and Davontea Goodloe, according to the FCSO. The sheriff’s office stated that both were charged with drug trafficking after approximately 1,500 fentanyl pills and $4,500 in cash were discovered in their possession.
The FCSO reported that the street value of the drugs seized this week exceeded $20,000 each.
