CSPD has reported that a crash involving a single vehicle occurred in the 800 block of E. Platte Ave. at around 2 a.m. on the 17th. Sadly, one of the occupants of the vehicle lost their life due to the injuries sustained from the crash. Meanwhile, another occupant is currently receiving treatment for life-threatening injuries, while the third passenger was also sent to the hospital.
It has been confirmed that the individual who passed away was Randy Castro, who was just 22 years old.
According to CSPD, the crash seems to have been caused by both speed and impairment, although the investigation is still ongoing. The individual behind the wheel of the car has been identified as 23-year-old Jermell Johnkin, who received medical attention for injuries sustained in the accident and was subsequently arrested on charges related to the collision.
