Cops report apparent stranger stabbing and slashing migrant in attempted phone theft near Penn Station

According to the police, a migrant was attacked by an unknown person who attempted to steal his mobile phone near Penn Station on Wednesday. As per the report, the migrant was stabbed and slashed during the incident. The investigation is still ongoing, and two suspects have been taken into custody.

According to sources and authorities, a male individual attempted to snatch the phone of a 29-year-old man who was on a call at West 31st Street and Eighth Avenue around 1:15 p.m. The perpetrator approached the victim from behind and made the grab.

According to sources and law enforcement officials, the perpetrator allegedly stabbed the victim in the back and slashed his arm after he refused to surrender his phone. This unprovoked attack resulted in severe physical harm to the victim. The incident was reported by the New York Post and has caused widespread concern and outrage.

After the incident, the victim was transported to Bellevue Hospital for medical attention. According to the latest updates, he is now in a stable condition.

According to sources, he currently resides in a building that was previously occupied by Touro College. The building now serves as a shelter for migrants and is situated at the same intersection where the attack occurred.

According to the authorities, there is no evidence that the migrant was acquainted with his attacker, who fled the scene.
