A mental health call at a residence in Clarence resulted in a 42-year-old woman facing multiple charges. The woman, who resides in the same residence, has been charged with several offenses.
According to the New York State Police, they received a 911 call regarding a “mental health incident” involving another individual at the home of Kara E. Halmstad on Monday. The police immediately responded to the call and took appropriate action.
Troopers reported that during the investigation, it was discovered that Halmstad had in his possession a Ruger EC9S pistol, as well as a Heritage Rough Ride .22 caliber pistol, along with two high-capacity magazines.
According to reports, Halmstad does not have a valid New York State Pistol Permit. As a result, authorities arrested him and charged him with the following offenses:
- One count of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree
- Two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree
After being taken to SP Clarence, Halmstad underwent transportation and processing before being given an appearance ticket.
