In Montgomery, a joint operation results in 78 arrests

Law enforcement agencies have recently made a major breakthrough in Montgomery as Operation Hot Wash resulted in the arrest of numerous individuals. This joint effort has been successful in tackling crime, and the authorities have made sure to bring those involved to justice.

A joint effort between various local, state, and federal departments resulted in an operation that took place from July 16-29. The Middle District of Alabama’s U.S. Marshals Service, Gulf Coast Fugitive Task Force, Montgomery Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, FBI, and other federal partners all worked together to carry out the operation.

During the press conference held on Tuesday, Montgomery Police Chief Darryl Albert revealed that Operation Hot Wash had led to a total of 140 contacts, which included traffic stops, resulting in 78 arrests, drug seizures, and 14 firearm confiscations. The operation also resulted in the seizure of various illegal drugs, such as marijuana, crack cocaine, powder, pharmaceutical pills, methamphetamine, and fentanyl, over the course of two weeks.

According to the chief, the arrests made included a range of both felony and misdemeanor charges.

According to Albert, Operation Hot Wash is a testament to the dedication of the local, state, and federal professionals who are working tirelessly to ensure the safety of the community. This initiative serves as a reminder of their unwavering commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of people in the community.

According to Jonathan Ross, who is the first assistant U.S. attorney for the Middle District of Alabama, the success of this operation is proof of what can be achieved when law enforcement agencies collaborate with a shared purpose.

According to Albert, these types of operations will continue to take place in undisclosed locations and at unpredictable times.
