On a Saturday afternoon, precisely on September 16, at 2:10 PM, an incident occurred in the town of Newburgh in Orange County.
As per the statement of Town of Newburgh Police Lt Peter Talarico, the teenager’s behavior of walking off without informing anyone was unusual and out of character.
According to Talarico, the police conducted a thorough investigation that lasted throughout the day and night. The investigation involved interviews, neighborhood canvassing carried out by patrol officers, as well as K-9 searches.
Chole Patino-Negron’s disappearance has prompted an extensive investigation, which was further expanded on Sunday, September 17. Law enforcement officers worked tirelessly throughout the night to gather more information about the case.
Over the weekend, authorities established a Command Center and requested aid from a multitude of sources such as firefighting teams, community volunteers, and other first responders from different departments. Furthermore, social media platforms were also leveraged to spread the word.
At around 1:25 p.m. last Sunday, the teenager who was reported missing was finally found safe and sound in Dutchess County, near the Fishkill Walmart.
According to Talarico, the teenager has been reunited with her family, but the investigation is still ongoing.

According to Talarico, everyone involved in the search for the missing teenager worked tirelessly alongside the officers and dispatchers, and the successful outcome is a testament to their dedication. He expressed his gratitude to the Cronomer Valley Fire Department and its members for their exceptional participation and professionalism in coordinating over 70 volunteers and allowing their facility to be used as the Command Center. Their critical role in the investigation was greatly appreciated.
Talarico expressed his gratitude towards the residents of Newburgh for their active participation on social media by providing “critical information.”
According to him, social media was able to reach out to more than 90,000 individuals within four hours. This, in turn, generated a plethora of tips that eventually helped locate the missing teenager.
The Golden Rail Ale House provided a helping hand to the first responders by allowing them to utilize their spacious parking area for communication purposes near the initial search location.
