Alabama man released from custody for a woman’s murder in 2008 has committed suicide after allegedly stabbing a pregnant woman

According to a report, the suspect in a capital murder case, who was charged with killing a pregnant woman in east Alabama, died by suicide in his cell early Sunday morning.

According to a report by CNAW 2 News, Bradley Stokes was declared dead shortly before 2 a.m. on Sunday morning. The news of his passing has left many people shocked and saddened.

According to reports, Stokes was taken into custody for his suspected involvement in the tragic death of Treasure Hennessy, who was just 37 years old. Sources say that Hennessy had been seeking refuge from Stokes in a fire station before he allegedly took her life. Tragically, she was eight months pregnant at the time of her death.

After being incarcerated for 14 years, Stokes has finally been released from prison. He was serving a 16-year sentence for federal gun charges and manslaughter.

Court records reveal that Stokes had pleaded guilty in 2010 to the shooting death of Crystal Lynn Bailey in 2008. Bailey, a 21-year-old woman from Phenix City, was survived by her son, as mentioned in her obituary.

According to reports, in August, Hennessy, who was in a relationship with Stokes, left his residence and was allowed to take refuge at the Fort Mitchell Fire Station as a “safe house” from Stokes.

According to Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor, Hennessy had filed multiple domestic violence complaints against Stokes in the months prior to her death. At least two of these calls were responded to by the sheriff’s department.

According to Taylor, it is believed by authorities that Stokes managed to locate Hennessy’s whereabouts.

As per CNAW, Arthur Sumbry, Jr., the Russell County Coroner, has confirmed the unfortunate passing of Stokes and stated that the cause of death was suicide.

As of early Sunday morning, there was no additional information available.
