Police say a woman was arrested following a hit-and-run on Hasty School Road in Thomasville

On Thursday, the Thomasville Police Department stated that a woman was charged in relation to a hit-and-run that occurred in Thomasville last week. The incident was reported through the department’s Facebook page.

At approximately 8:20 p.m. on September 7th, a pedestrian walking eastbound in the 900 block of Hasty School Road was struck by a vehicle also traveling eastbound.

The incident left a 39-year-old resident of Thomasville lying on the ground after being hit by a vehicle that did not stop.

After walking to a nearby Sheetz store, the man was promptly assisted by the employees who called 911. As a result, emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene and the man was taken to the hospital for medical attention.

Upon investigating the scene of the crash, authorities discovered a side mirror which helped them identify the vehicle responsible for the incident. Thanks to a helpful tip from a member of the local community, police were able to successfully locate the vehicle in question.

Felicia Elaine Hicks, a 31-year-old resident of Thomasville, has been charged and identified by the local police. The charges against her have also been specified.
