A drunk driver has pleaded guilty to a horrible hit-and-run

According to a statement released by the Erie County District Attorney’s office, a man from Buffalo admitted guilt for causing the death of a pedestrian in a hit-and-run incident that occurred earlier this year.

In the early hours of February 25th, Rinaldo Pearson, aged 48, confessed to striking 31-year-old Amber Young from Depew on Broadway. Unfortunately, Amber passed away later at ECMC due to the injuries sustained from the attack.

After a brief period, Pearson was apprehended close to the boundary of Buffalo and Cheektowaga. It was later discovered that he had been operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Pearson accepted responsibility for one charge of vehicular manslaughter.

On January 16, 2024, he will be facing a possible sentence of up to 15 years in prison.
