Search for suspect underway after attempted rape on Upper East Side

Authorities are currently on the lookout for a male suspect who made an attempted rape on a woman in the Upper East Side area.

Just before midnight on Friday, a situation unfolded near a New York Sports Club located on 76th Street and 2nd Avenue.

A woman, who is 27 years old, sustained a minor injury on her head resulting in a cut.

The medical team at New York-Presbyterian, Weil Cornell Medical Center attended to her and assured that she will be fine.

A man wearing an orange shirt, tan shorts, and black and white sneakers is the subject of the description.

Zooming down 76th Street on a scooter, he made a quick escape.
