Maryland – (mocobizscene) – Reginald Dunlap, a 45-year-old resident of Silver Spring, was sentenced to 55 years in prison for the 2021 murder of his wife, Lauren Charles, according to authorities.
In March 2021, Lauren’s body was discovered in the couple’s residence, according to Lauren DeMarco, director of public affairs for the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office.
According to DeMarco, Dunlap forced a pillowcase down her throat and battered her to death with a beautiful Buddha statue.
According to authorities, Dunlap then poured bleach over her body and ransacked their bedroom in order to perpetrate a robbery at their home.
Lauren was an attorney who was noted in her obituary for her “keen intellect, zest for life, and insatiable curiosity.”
Lauren attended Benjamin Franklin High School before attending Johns Hopkins University, Pratt Institute, and The University of Oregon School of Law.
She had been working for Leidos as the lead project manager assigned to the Department of Justice.
