The State of Tennessee vs. Zachary Adams, the person found guilty of murdering Holly Bobo, underwent a hearing in Savannah, Tennessee.
According to Adams, he is in pursuit of a fresh trial, citing the existence of new evidence.
The newly discovered evidence was presented by his attorney, who cited two main claims.
Jason Autry’s story has undergone a change and there is a possibility of a new testimony from Lisa Caroll, an alleged witness.
Adams’ petition for a new trial prompted the State to file a motion to dismiss it.

Jennifer Nichols, the district attorney general, stated that they will argue that the law does not apply or that the petitioner cannot meet the requirements of the writ. At the conclusion of their argument, they will request the dismissal of the writ of error coram nobis without an evidentiary hearing.
According to sources, Adams’ two petitions must be based on newly discovered evidence that has been presented in the form of an affidavit, as per the requirement.
Douglas Bates, Adams’ lawyer, spoke on Adams’ behalf during the hearing, as Adams was not present and attendance was not mandatory.
Bates mentioned the affidavit and highlighted that there are several cases where an evidentiary hearing is not necessary and can be granted without one.
According to Douglas, the strongest evidence presented by the state should be backed by an affidavit. Additionally, he points out that Jason Autry, a crucial witness, recorded a statement to a neuropsychologist admitting that he fabricated the story that ultimately led to Adams’ conviction.
At present, there has been no official ruling and the hearing has come to a close. Furthermore, there has been no indication of a future court date.
