On Wednesday, the Iran proxy militia, Hezbollah, launched numerous rockets at Israel following an Israeli airstrike that resulted in the death of one of the group’s leaders.
On Wednesday, the border between northern Israel and Lebanon was the site of a barrage of approximately 160 rockets, causing sirens to blare throughout the area.
Early on Wednesday morning, the Israel Defense Forces reported the firing of several projectiles. While some of them were successfully intercepted, others fell onto northern Israel, causing multiple fires to break out.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.
At 10 a.m., a launcher in the Lebanese village of Yaroun was struck by fighter jets of the IDF. The launcher had fired towards northern Israel, as per the statement given by the IDF.
The blaring sirens persisted into the late morning, indicating the possibility of more incoming projectiles.
Following recent alerts in the northern part of Israel, it has been identified that seventy rockets were fired from Lebanon. While some of them landed, most of the rockets fell in open areas. There have been reports of multiple falls in the northern part of Israel, and the details are currently being investigated. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.
Furthermore, the Israeli Air Force recently launched an attack on a target in the Yaron area of southern Lebanon with one of its aircraft. According to sources who wish to remain anonymous, Hezbollah launched its most extensive barrage since the start of the conflict between Israel and Hamas on October 7th in Gaza. The information was reported by Haaretz.
Amid the war, Hezbollah has launched attacks on Israel, leading to numerous cross-border skirmishes. Unfortunately, these altercations have resulted in the deaths of hundreds of the militia’s fighters, raising concerns that the conflict may spread beyond Gaza and throughout the Middle East.
As Talib Sami Abdullah, one of the militia leaders, passed away, the group responded by launching rockets.
Four Hezbollah operatives, including him, were killed in the strike.
There has been no official statement from the IDF regarding the attack.
