The National Puerto Rican Day Parade is set to take over Fifth Avenue on June 9th, bringing with it a wave of excitement, anticipation, and of course, preparations in full swing.
Our celebration of Boricua pride begins with Ramon Rodriguez, the talented actor from the popular ABC show ‘Will Trent.’
Born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, the actor and producer has been bestowed with the honorary title of “Padrino” by the parade board of directors for this year’s celebration.
During an interview with entertainment reporter Joelle Garguilo, he was asked about his show, his family, and his heritage.
But let’s start with “Mi Patria” Puerto Rico, an organization that was established by Puerto Rican military veterans who were born in New York.
The group of volunteers is dedicated to assisting families in rebuilding their lives after natural disasters. They have successfully rehabilitated and reconstructed numerous homes throughout the island. In addition to their construction efforts, they also offer an innovative art and music therapy program to provide emotional support to those in need.
Joining us today are Raymond Collazao and Carmen Iris Santiago, the founders of “Mi Patria”. They are here to shed light on the organization’s ongoing initiatives.
