Kari Lake expresses doubts about the fairness of the 2024 election

Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake expressed her lack of confidence in the fairness of the 2024 election, once again delving into election denial conspiracies that have previously caused legal issues in her 2022 gubernatorial race.

In an interview with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” Lake expressed her strong opposition to initiatives that promote voter registration alongside Medicare and Medicaid enrollment. She raised concerns about potential fraudulent voting activity, suggesting that this approach might be part of a larger conspiracy.

According to her, the intention behind this concept is to ensure that there is a registered voter associated with each person. This is why they encourage individuals to register to vote when they enroll in Medicare and Medicaid, as they provide various services to them. By having people sign up to vote, they are able to add their names to the voter roll, and ultimately, someone will cast a vote using that name.

Lake confidently stated that she is completely certain that the concept is designed to allow undocumented immigrants to vote in the 2024 election. It is important to note that claims of noncitizens voting have often been linked to the “great replacement theory,” a white supremacist conspiracy theory. However, there is no evidence to support the notion that noncitizens have voted in significant numbers in previous elections.

In regards to the 2024 election, she expressed her lack of confidence in a fair outcome.

During her unsuccessful 2022 Arizona gubernatorial campaign, she continuously echoed baseless allegations of election fraud, falsely asserting that the 2020 election had been stolen. Even after suffering defeat at the hands of Governor Katie Hobbs (D), she refused to accept her own election loss.

Lake and her campaign have faced multiple legal challenges due to their comments. They have been subjected to legal scrutiny, resulting in significant financial penalties. Lake’s attorneys have had to pay thousands of dollars in sanctions for bringing forth fraudulent legal cases. Additionally, Lake had to forfeit her defense in a defamation suit filed by a state elections official. This lawsuit was related to her involvement in spreading fraud conspiracies.

Arizona Rep. Ruben Gallego (D) is poised to face Lake in what is anticipated to be one of the most closely contested Senate races in the country. The outcome of this race could potentially determine the majority in the Senate. Gallego has managed to raise slightly more funds and has held a slight edge over Lake in early polling. According to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ average of polls, the congressman currently maintains a 4.1 percent lead over Lake.
