On March 19, a river worker from the Massachusetts Department of Public Works discovered a car parked at the Berlin Pass trailhead in Williamstown. The vehicle had been left there since March 11.
We were only a few feet away from the New York State border, near the scenic Taconic Ridge State Forest.
The Massachusetts State Police reached out to the New York State DEC for assistance in locating the owner of the car, a 40-year-old woman who was last seen on March 7.
The woman has been identified by the Massachusetts State Police as Daniel “Fae” Barbone, a 40-year-old Caucasian woman with brown hair and blue eyes. She is described as being 6’2″ tall and weighing 180 pounds.
According to the Massachusetts State Police, Ms. Barbone was last seen wearing a light blue sweater and black leggings.
Long Search For Missing Woman In Upstate New York
Over the course of the next three days, a team of 18 Forest Rangers and officers from various police departments conducted extensive search operations.
The search had to be temporarily halted because of the unfavorable weather conditions. However, the search operation persisted for several weeks.
