An Alabama woman was arrested after an early morning “traffick” stop

Authorities in Alabama recently pulled over a woman during a routine traffic stop. Following additional inquiry, the woman was arrested for what was discovered in her car.

Tasia Symone Paige, 32, was arrested for drug trafficking around 4:05 a.m. on August 19, 2023, with a $20,000 bond. She is still in the County Jail (Madison) as of August 24, 2023, with booking number 17JI12774.

More information regarding this case is being gathered and will be made available to the public as soon as it is available. According to Dearman Law Firm (DLF), the type and amount of drugs a person has will influence whether the accusations are considered trafficking or not, as well as the duration of the sentence.

In Alabama, the minimum sentence for human trafficking is three years in prison. DLF provided further information by breaking down the sentencing duration with the amount a person must be found with by authorities.

Mandatory Sentence of 3 Years

  • 2.2 pounds of marijuana, but less than 100 pounds
  • 28 grams of cocaine, but less than 500 grams
  • 4 grams of an opiate, morphine, or heroin, but less than 14 grams
  • 4 grams of LSD, but less than 14 grams

Mandatory Sentence of 5 Years

  • 100 pounds of marijuana but less than 500 pounds
  • 500 grams of cocaine, but less than 1 kg

Life Sentence 15, 25,

  • Extremely high levels that vary depending on the drug
