US rejects Iran’s claim of pre-warning Israel before attack

The United States denied allegations on Sunday that Iran had issued a warning to other countries in the region about a major air strike targeting Israel on Saturday.

According to a senior administration official who briefed reporters on Sunday, Iran did not provide any warning to other countries in the region before launching its attack on Israel. The official categorically denied claims that Iran had given a 72-hour notice about the attack, stating that such claims were completely false.

According to an official, there was no prior notification or indication of which locations would be targeted for evacuation. The intention of the attackers was clear: to cause destruction and casualties. The fact that they didn’t succeed in causing casualties may lead them to claim that it was unnecessary.

Iran carried out a series of drone and missile attacks against Israel on Saturday. However, the majority of these attacks were successfully repelled with the assistance of U.S. forces overnight. Iran claimed that their offensive was a retaliatory measure in response to an earlier strike that resulted in the deaths of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps members at an Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian revealed in a televised meeting on Sunday that Iran had provided a 72-hour advance warning to its allies and neighboring countries about the attack.

According to a senior administration official, it is important to clarify that Iran’s objective is not to engage in negotiations, but rather to harm Israel.

According to an official, there was no prior warning or indication of the events that unfolded. The response was imminent and it was made clear that action would be taken. The extent and magnitude of the response had been a topic of discussion throughout the week.

“He stated that there was no warning or intention to fire missiles without causing harm to anyone.”

Last week, the White House raised concerns about Iran planning a retaliatory attack on Israel following the assault on its embassy in Syria on April 1. President Biden cautioned that an Iranian attack could happen sooner rather than later.
