Police are currently on the lookout for a 25-year-old man following the tragic stabbing of a woman in Bradford city centre. The incident occurred as the victim was pushing her baby in a pram.
The West Yorkshire police are urging the public to come forward with any information regarding the whereabouts of Habibur Masum, who hails from the Oldham area.
The baby, who was in a pram during the attack, fortunately escaped unharmed. It is suspected that there was some prior acquaintance between the woman and her assailant.
DCI Stacey Atkinson assured the local community that the murder of a young woman, under such horrifying circumstances, has raised serious concerns. To address these concerns, the police will maintain a strong presence in Bradford, conducting thorough investigations and providing reassurance patrols throughout the area.
“We have dedicated substantial resources to investigating various leads in our search for Habibur Masum, but currently, we have been unable to determine his whereabouts.”
Masum, described by the police as an Asian man with a slim build, was captured on CCTV footage. He was seen wearing a padded jacket featuring three prominent horizontal lines in grey, white, and black. Additionally, he had on light blue or grey tracksuit bottoms with a small black emblem on the left pocket, as well as maroon trainers. A witness also recalled seeing him in a grey hoodie.
According to Atkinson, a knife was found at the murder scene. However, it is unclear if Habibur Masum is currently armed. If anyone spots him, Atkinson advises against approaching him and encourages them to call 999 right away. Atkinson also urges anyone with information about Masum’s activities or location since 3:20 pm on Saturday to contact the police urgently.
