FBI executes search warrant at home of Eric Adams aide

Mocobizscene-  The home of New York City Mayor Eric Adams’s aide was raided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on Thursday, according to multiple outlets.

Two homes owned by Winnie Greco, Adams’s director of Asian affairs, were raided by federal agents. The raid, which was initially reported by News 12 in the Bronx, is part of an ongoing investigation led by the U.S. attorney’s office in Brooklyn.

The connection between the raid and Adams, who is the focus of a separate investigation, remains unclear.

Months after the homes of Adams’ associates were searched as part of a federal corruption probe, authorities turned their attention to the properties. The probe revolves around the mayor’s 2021 election campaign, which is alleged to have conspired with the Turkish government to receive illegal foreign donations.

After the raid, Greco was placed on leave.

The New York City Department of Investigation initiated an investigation into Greco in November following a report by local news outlet, The City, which revealed her alleged attempt to exploit her position for personal gain through a nonprofit organization she managed. Additionally, Greco was accused of soliciting assistance from a volunteer of Adams’s campaign to renovate her kitchen in exchange for potential assistance in securing a government position.

According to multiple outlets, the Adams administration consistently adheres to the law, as stated by a spokesperson from City Hall.

“Our administration is committed to upholding the law and maintaining the highest ethical standards. We expect all of our employees to follow these guidelines without exception. While we cannot comment on ongoing reviews, we will fully cooperate with any investigations. It’s important to note that the mayor has not been accused of any wrongdoing,” stated the spokesperson.
