Local Resident Arrested for 7th District Homicide

Mocobizscene-  Robert Aguillard, a suspect in a homicide case in the Seventh District on January 27, 2024, has been taken into custody by the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD). Through an inquiry, Aguillard, who was born on November 29, 2003, was identified. Officers from the Fifth District reacted to a shooting on Chef Menteur Highway, where the crime was committed.

Officers discovered a victim who had been shot many times when they arrived. Emergency Medical Services pronounced 42-year-old Cody Abbott deceased at the site (EMS). Abbott’s identification was confirmed by the Orleans Parish Coroner.

After the inquiry, detectives named Aguillard as the culprit. On February 20, 2024, Aguillard was charged with second-degree murder, and an arrest warrant was issued for him.

On the morning of February 21, 2024, Aguillard was taken into custody and placed under arrest in the Orleans Parish Justice Center. It should be mentioned that Aguillard is deemed innocent until and until proven guilty, just like all accused parties.
