Identity of body discovered in Colorado mountains in 1991 confirmed to be Indiana resident

Mocobizscene-  The cause of Risku’s death is still unclear, and it is uncertain if foul play was involved. Wolf Creek Pass has gained a reputation for being a treacherous road, with a history of severe and sometimes fatal car accidents, as reported by the Colorado Department of Transportation.

According to Risku’s family, he would occasionally make trips to California from Indiana. It remains unknown how and why he found himself in the Colorado mountains. However, his family had informed investigators in the past that Risku was an adventurous individual who thoroughly enjoyed being in nature.

Mineral County Sheriff Terry Wetherill expressed his satisfaction with the identification of Mr. Risku, stating that it marks a significant milestone in the quest to provide answers to his family. Sheriff Wetherill urged anyone with information regarding the circumstances surrounding Steven Risku’s presence at a remote location on Wolf Creek Pass to come forward. He also encouraged individuals with additional questions to reach out to the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office for further assistance.
