Decomposing body recovered in Southwest DC woods; homicide inquiry underway

WASHINGTON – On Friday, D.C. Police discovered a corpse near Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Southwest D.C. The department is currently looking into the situation as a homicide.

The bones of the deceased were discovered in a forested area on the 4300 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, according to police, in a “advanced stage of decomposition”. After the body was brought to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, bullet wounds were found to be the cause of death.The remains have not been identified by the department as of yet.
