Man Convicted of Drug and Weapon Trafficking for Selling Large Quantities of Fentanyl in Virginia Receives Sentence

Mocobizscene- Federal authorities have announced that a notorious drug and gun trafficker, who has a history of run-ins with the law in Virginia, will be serving an additional 15 years in prison for the distribution of large quantities of fentanyl in the region.

Carrington Hammond, a 29-year-old individual with a history of prosecutions for drug and weapons offenses, has recently been sentenced. According to officials, Hammond was apprehended in an Alexandria apartment where he was found in possession of an illegal weapon and a variety of drugs.

Hammond collaborated with suppliers in Arizona and local dealers in Virginia to distribute large quantities of fentanyl, according to prosecutors. Hammond was involved in the distribution of fentanyl powder and cocaine in Virginia.

Court documents reveal that Hammond was involved in a conspiracy where he sold multiple weapons. These weapons were later seized by police investigators, including an illegal “ghost gun.”

In August of last year, authorities report that the police conducted a search of an apartment in Alexandria that Hammond and his associates utilized for their operation. In the course of this search, the police confiscated the following items:

    • More than five kilograms of counterfeit pills laced with fentanyl;
    • Over two kilograms of fentanyl powder;
    • Over one kilogram of cocaine;
    • 2.5 kilograms of marijuana;
    • Two firearms.

Prosecutors revealed that one of the firearms was concealed beneath a couch cushion, while the other was a loaded semi-automatic weapon positioned alongside a safe that held a kilogram of fentanyl.

According to the authorities, Hammond has faced multiple state-level prosecutions for offenses related to drugs, firearms, and violent crimes. They also mentioned that three of his co-conspirators who were charged are set to be sentenced on February 20th.
