Mocobizscene- Shomari Stone, the manager of a Georgetown spa recounted a harrowing incident in which two would-be robbers targeted him and an employee on Monday. Police are currently investigating an attempted armed robbery that took place inside a massage spa in Georgetown.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the incident took place on Monday at the Coco Health Spa Georgetown Massage.
Two men arrived at the scene shortly before 6 p.m. They proceeded to enter a room accompanied by an employee, brandishing a gun. According to reports, the suspects demanded money from the employee, who unfortunately did not have any on their person at that moment. As they were leaving, the men were also accused of attempting to steal someone else’s purse.
The manager at Coco Health Spa expressed his and his two employees’ fear when recounting the incident to FOX 5. He mentioned that the men originally requested a 30-minute massage. According to the police department, the men exited the Coco Health Spa without stealing anything and had already left by the time the officers arrived.
The suspects were captured on surveillance cameras, and the MPD has released photos of the individuals they are searching. Detectives believe that on Tuesday, one of the men attempted to rob the WG Wellness Center located on Connecticut Avenue in Northwest.
