Mocobizscene- Miami-Dade County, Fla. witnessed a significant development as two suspects were apprehended by the Miami-Dade police on Monday. These individuals stand accused of actively participating in illegal intersection takeovers within the county, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing crackdown against such activities.
Chenel Chevalier, a 22-year-old resident of Hollywood, and Jacardi Khaul Everett, a 25-year-old resident of Miami Gardens, have been arrested on Saturday and are now facing multiple charges.
Chevalier, who is currently facing charges for drag racing, reckless driving, and driving while suspended, has been accused of taking part in a series of events. These events include one that took place in Miami Gardens on August 26, as well as two others in North Miami – one on December 30 and another on January 28.
Everett allegedly took part in a street takeover in Opa-locka on Saturday and subsequently eluded law enforcement officers.
According to an arrest report, Everett, driving a Chevrolet Camaro with a white towel covering the license plate, disregarded the instructions of the officers who were working an intersection takeover detail near Northwest 135th Street and 37th Avenue.
According to the police report, Everett fled from the scene, driving at a high speed and displaying reckless behavior. He then proceeded to enter Florida’s Turnpike and continued onto Northwest 199th Street in Miami Gardens. It was at this location that law enforcement officers were able to apprehend him.
Everett was apprehended by the police for charges of fleeing and eluding as well as reckless driving. As of Monday afternoon, neither of them appeared in the Miami-Dade jail records.
