Three individuals convicted in relation to 2015 deadly shooting near NE DC church

Mocobizscene-On August 18, 2015, Joseph Brown, 34, and Rondell McLeod, 30, both residents of D.C., confessed to their involvement in a shooting incident. The incident took place in front of St. Luke’s Catholic Church at 4925 East Capitol Street, Northeast. The two men got out of a blue van and proceeded to fire 28 rounds at Amari Jenkins, a 21-year-old individual.

According to court documents, the men left the scene and made their escape in the van. Brown received a 25-year prison sentence for his involvement in both shootings. According to court documents, McLeod received a 10-year prison sentence, which will be served consecutively with an 11-year sentence for federal robbery charges.

According to court documents, Alicia McCoy, a 28-year-old woman, has been sentenced to two years in prison for perjury in the grand jury investigation of Jenkins’ murder.

According to court documents, she will serve her sentences consecutively alongside the felony sentences she is already serving in Maryland for violent crimes.
