Mocobizscene- Detective Sgt. Jared Shatkin and Detective Nick Mercoun discovered a Honda Accord, manufactured in an earlier model, with two individuals crossing a line in a parking lot on Midland Street, located just off Essex Street between Routes 80 and 17. This occurred at approximately 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31st, as confirmed by Capt. James M. DePreta.
A passenger swiftly entered a nearby business as they approached, he shared. According to DePreta, the detectives quickly noticed a plastic bag on the front seat. To their surprise, it contained over two pounds of cocaine.
The authorities apprehended Reynaldo Coortorreal, a 45-year-old driver, who was found in possession of a sandwich bag containing an additional half-ounce of cocaine, as stated by the captain. Inside the business, the passenger, Frandelyn Moyaduerge, 28, was subsequently apprehended by the authorities.
Cortorreal and Moyaduerge, residents of the Bronx, were transferred to the Bergen County Jail. Their records at the jail indicate that they are both Dominican nationals. As of Thursday, February 1, no detainers had been issued by federal authorities for them, according to jail records.
Cortorreal faces charges of possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute it, alongside other counts. Moyaduerge, on the other hand, is charged with drug conspiracy. Rochelle Park Police Chief Dean Pinto commended his detectives for successfully thwarting a significant drug transaction and eliminating hazardous substances from our community.
